Chlamydia: Starting a School-Based Chlamydia Screening Treatment Program

In 2006, 1,030,911 cases of chlamydia were reported in the United States.1 The majority of these cases occurred in adolescents and young adults. This publication focuses on halting the spread of chlamydia among young people by providing a step-by-step guide for schools to begin, implement and maintain a school-based chlamydia screening and treatment program. Although this guide was originally designed for chlamydia diagnosis, the step-by-step process can also be used to set up gonorrhea and HIV testing programs in schools.
